Members of the Trust’s south area Parenting and Family Support Service (PFASS) team came together to share lunch yesterday in memory of Jo Cox MP, who was killed in her Batley and Spen constituency a year ago.
The team brought food for a buffet to share between everyone and spent time remembering Jo and her message of unity.
Team deputy manager Nicola Paterson said: “The aim of the event was to celebrate what Jo stood for which was community cohesion and celebrating diversity but, most importantly, her promotion of the belief that everyone has something in common.
“Jo Cox stated ‘we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us,’” added Nicola.
‘The Great Get Together’ national lunch event was created and promoted by Jo Cox’s husband, Brendan, in partnership with Jamie Oliver.
