Doncaster workforce backs child-focused domestic abuse campaign

Last Updated: February 1, 2016

A campaign to raise awareness about the harmful effects of domestic abuse on children will go live across Doncaster this month.

The launch comes after more than 200 representatives from the town’s workforce gathered at the Keepmoat Stadium last week, in a mission to reduce the disproportionately high levels of domestic abuse in Doncaster.

Posters, leaflets and buses around the Borough will display the clear message: “Domestic abuse damages children’s lives – life doesn’t have to be like this.”

Celebrating the life-changing work of our Stars

Last Updated: February 1, 2016

Volunteers and staff who give children a great start in life were honoured at our first Star Awards, held recently at Doncaster College.

The Trust was the first children’s social care organisation in the country to be run independently from a local authority, delivering services under an agreement with the Government and Doncaster Council. Our remit is to pioneer new, dynamic ways to provide outstanding care to local children and families.

National award for Doncaster volunteer scheme

Doncaster Children’s Services Trust volunteer scheme has been recognised nationally as the best for its work with young people.

The Independent Visitor Volunteer Scheme supports children in care who have little or no contact with their birth parents. By simply providing a commitment to ‘just being there’, the volunteers are there to listen, provide advice, and encourage a child to reach their full potential.

“Thank you so much for working with us and helping us as a family. You are a top social worker.”
