Trust making homes for Doncaster children

Young people with experience of living in care have seen their ideas turned into reality as part of a major renovation project at a residential home, which re-opened its doors this week. 

The 10 week project at the property, operated by the Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, has been designed around the suggestions of the Trust’s Young Advisors, after they were heavily consulted on the plans.

No less than 40 children and young people found their forever families during the last year thanks to the Doncaster Children’s Services adoption service.

Ofsted praises ‘significant and continuing progress’ at Trust

A ‘stable and well supported’ workforce who put children at the centre of everything they do is pivotal to the Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, according to Ofsted inspectors.

And, following their latest monitoring visit, they say the Trust is an organisation in which the ‘voices and views of children come through strongly and are clearly taken into account.’

A home from home’ foster scheme to be extended

A scheme offering an alternative method of delivering foster care in Doncaster is to receive a further three years of funding from the Department for Education (DfE).

Doncaster Children’s Services Trust is to benefit from a slice of £3.76m as part of the DfE’s Children’s Social Care Innovation Programme to help extend its Mockingbird Family Model.
