‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating for Doncaster children’s home

A home caring for children and young people on Morrison Drive in Doncaster, has been deemed Outstanding by Ofsted in its latest inspection.

This latest good news follows two other ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings for the Trust’s adoption service and it is home at Oaklands which provides short breaks for children with a range of complex disability, all in recent months.

Animal antics as the end to summer scheme

A Group of young people were allowed to go wild for the day when they were invited on a trip to an animal park.

The 13 children and teenagers who went to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park had all taken part in a summer scheme run by the Doncaster Children’s Services Trust EPIC team.

The team work with young people to Encourage Potential and Inspire Change (EPIC) by helping them increase their self-esteem, confidence and aspirations, through positive activities, with the aim of reducing anti-social behavior and potential criminal activity.

Rotary Club generous support to young people’s awards

An awards ceremony for children in care and care leavers has been given a boost thanks to a £1,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Doncaster.

The money is to go towards the cost of staging the glittering annual Celebrating Success event, hosted by Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, later in the month.

This recognises and applauds fundraising or volunteering efforts; educational achievement; sporting participation; artistic endeavours and other personal achievements of all the young people the Trust cares for or works with.
