Doncaster is a vibrant town surrounded by open green space and attractive scenery. It is a short journey from the regional shopping centres of Sheffield and Leeds and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District.
Travelling to our offices
Whether you choose to drive or use public transport, it is easy to get to Doncaster from across the region. The town has excellent rail links, with a station at the heart of the town centre. It takes around 1hr 40mins to get to London Kings Cross and is less than 30 minutes from Leeds.
It is also well connected to the motorway network. We offer free or discounted parking for all staff and the use of pool cars for business travel.
The Trust’s headquarters are at The Blue Building which is just a short walk from train and bus stations.
A wide range of great value housing is available in and around Doncaster. Whether you plan to buy or rent you will be surprised at how reasonable prices are when compared with other parts of England. There is plenty of choice, from developments within the town to attractive towns and villages on the outskirts of the borough.
Shopping and entertainment
Doncaster is well known for its thriving traditional markets. It also has a wide choice of shops from individual boutiques to the high street favourites.
Entertainment in the town includes events at the new CAST theatre as well as live performances at The Dome and The Racecourse. There are a range of pubs, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. For family entertainment there is a 7-screen cinema, ice rink, swimming pools and ten pin bowling. The town’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park attracts visitors from across the region.
If you prefer sporting activity Doncaster has lots to offer with the award winning Racecourse; Doncaster Rovers FC, Doncaster Rovers Belles and Doncaster Rugby League Football Club playing at the Keepmoat Stadium and Doncaster Knights Rugby Union Club playing at Castle Park. Many more sports are represented in and around Doncaster including cricket, golf and hockey.
