Salary:
Up to £37,916 depending on experience
Closing date:

As part of our drive to continually improve the way we provide support and achieve change for vulnerable children in Doncaster we have recently created three new roles within our assessment teams. We are looking for social workers who are understanding, confident, and committed to come be a key part of our team.

These teams work closely with services, including our own Edge of Care service and Family Group Conference team, to provide support to children and their families’ right at the beginning of our involvement.

Interventions for families will be delivered alongside the social work assessment, better informing what the child and family needs and who is best to support that need.

If this sounds like the perfect role for you, we would love for you to get in touch.

Why work for the Trust?

At Doncaster Children’s Services Trust, we are proud to have created a place where social work can flourish by having smaller teams, constantly looking at how we can safely lower caseloads through essential support and ensuring that your sole focus is improving the lives of children, young people and families.

Providing you with numerous opportunities to support your continuous professional development, we support our staff to access continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities, to make sure you have the skills you need to do things which can make a real difference to our children, young people and families.

Children are at the heart of everything we do that is why at the heart of our business is a team of young people who have experience of care, our Chief Executive’s Young Advisors. The young people help us to stay grounded and give us their expertise through lived experience for ways in which we can improve our services to provide better outcomes for other children and young people.

There are many benefits for working for us too:

  • Our Centre for Excellence with Practice Development Social Workers are on hand to support our social workers with their continuous professional development (CPD).
  • We can offer regional CPD training through the South Yorkshire Teaching Partnership
  • Our small teams are based across the borough of Doncaster
  • We can offer you mobile technology which enables greater freedom and flexibility
  • We have a generous annual leave of up to 30 days, plus the opportunity to purchase up to 10 days of additional holiday. This scheme is HMRC approved for salary sacrifice

Working for the Trust you can also make the most of:

  • Employee discounts on the High Street, restaurants, holidays and days out
  • A car lease scheme that is HMRC approved for salary sacrifice
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance counselling service
  • Staff recognition awards
  • Referral scheme

If you already know someone who works for the Trust, if they recommend you, you could receive £1,000 after successfully completing your 6 months’ probation period.
