At the point of leaving school, Georgia Butler did not know what to do with the rest of her life.
She spent an enjoyable year working in her dad’s pub, at which point she felt she was ready to think about her future.
She started on the Modern Apprenticeship scheme in October 2017, in the Safeguarding Business Support team.
“I am so glad I did it,” said Georgia, adding, “The training is amazing here at the Trust. I felt so well supported and if there was anything I wanted to have a go at, I was supported through that too. So, for example, I wanted to get some experience of the Child Protection Conference service, so that was arranged for me.”
After attaining an NVQ Level 2, through the partnership between the Trust and Doncaster College, Georgia has secured a Grade 5 permanent post in the team – which she is thrilled about.
“I would never have got a Grade 5 job without the apprenticeship – and I love it here. I have made great friends – it’s like a little work family,” she said.
