No less than 40 children and young people found their forever families during the last year thanks to the Doncaster Children’s Services adoption service.
If you could open your heart and provide a permanent home for a Doncaster child you are invited to find out more by calling at an adoption drop-in information event next week.
The Trust, who deliver social care services for children, young people and families in Doncaster on behalf of the council, are to host the event at The Dome, on Monday 13 March, between 5pm and 8pm – just ahead of the national Big Adoption Day at the end of the month.
Members of the Adoption team and a number of adoptive parents will be on hand to answer all your questions and to explain the adoption process and the benefits of adopting through the Trust. This includes support throughout the adoption process and after placement.
Claire Holmes, manager of the Trust adoption team, said: “We currently have 20 children in Doncaster who cannot be brought up with their birth family.
“We would love to speak to people willing to open up their hearts and give them a permanent, stable and loving family home.
“Just as our children come from different backgrounds, so adopters can come from all walks of life and circumstances, including those who are single, unemployed, of whatever sexual orientation - and there is no upper age limit. Nor do you have to come from Doncaster.”
