Doncaster children will wake up to find presents on Christmas Day thanks to the generosity of local businesses and residents.
Hundreds of brand new toys and gifts have been donated to Doncaster Children's Services Trust from local toy appeals. Kind supporters have included TX 1 Radio Station, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Dental Committee, St Leger Harley motorbike club, MechFS, Optimum Fire and Security, Salvation Army and Direct Line insurance, among others. Trust colleagues have been busy delivering presents to those families and young people who are struggling and would otherwise have few or no gifts on Christmas Day.
Doncaster Children’s Services Trust Chief Executive, James Thomas said: “In this extraordinary year, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses and individuals. On behalf of all the families who have received gifts through this year’s appeal we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who found the time to donate. Your kind thoughts will make a huge difference to children and young people on Christmas Day.”
“We feel like we have our town back. We would like to thank you and the police for the work you are doing. People are now feeling they can come into town again.”
