Hundreds of children will wake up on Christmas day to find a present under the tree thanks to the generosity of local businesses and residents, who have donated thousands of brand new toys and gifts.
Doncaster Children's Services Trust has received the presents from local appeals, including those at Trax FM, the Salvation Army and Direct Line insurance, among others - and Trust staff have been busy delivering them to those families and young people who are struggling and would otherwise have few gifts.
Trust Chief Executive Paul Moffat said: “The generosity of local businesses and individuals is just amazing – especially at this expensive and busy time of year.
“It is humbling to witness their thought for others less fortunate than themselves and I know many of our children and young people will have a brighter Christmas thanks to them. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated.”
“She is one of the kindest social workers I have ever met. She seemed to actually care. She was not just doing her job.”
