Pioneering children's services trust gets underway in Doncaster
Doncaster-born student Sophie Maxwell (17) is a rising star. For the Doncaster College graphics student designed the children’s trust brand – the design that features on the outside of the Blue Building where the trust’s HQ is based.
Sophie, who is hoping to study graphic design at university next year, came up with the design of a heart shaped into a child and adult to symbolise the work of the trust and helping people locally. The vibrant tones of the design of blue and lime green also add a splash of colour.
“It’s amazing to see the design being used and outside the trust’s building. It’s a great way to start my career off and has given me a lot of confidence. I really am proud,” said Sophie.
Sophie’s design will appear on all stationery and trust materials including display materials at the Blue Building.
Colin Hilton, chairman of the trust’ independent board, who approached the college in the summer to involve graphic design students in the work of the trust, said he was delighted with the result.
“Sophie’s design is bold and bright and says exactly what we are about as the new trust in Doncaster. As well as working for the community we are very much part of it which is why involving the talents of young people is important. Well done Sophie!”
