Speaking ahead of the day Rebecca Wilshire, Director of Children’s Social Cares said:

“The last 16 months have been a difficult period for all, especially towards key workers. It has made an already challenging role, that much more complex. This is why it is essential that we take time to reflect on ourselves and mental wellbeing so we can provide the best possible care to our children, young people, and families.”

“This virtual event is a great opportunity to come along, listen and try our approach to social care and see if it is an environment you can see yourself thriving in. You will meet some of our friendly team members who will be available to answer any questions you might have around how we put the child at the heart of all we do.”

In aims to reach a wider audience, the event will take place on Wednesday 18 August, 6pm to 7pm. Attendees do not need specialist software installed to join the event, all they will need is access to a computer or mobile device and to the internet.

“I was impressed with how well she shared information and discussed the complex concerns. She has supported the young person well to have a voice which was definitely heard today.”
