Everyone at the Trust is celebrating after one of our social workers has been shortlisted in a national award scheme.
Senita Kaur, has been nominated in the Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) category of the prestigious national Social Worker of the Year Awards.
She works in the Trust’s south team and is among seven social workers from across the country who will compete to win the top title at a glittering ceremony to be held in London in November.
After qualifying, Senita took a role as a social worker assistant prior to getting an NQSW position because she was so determined to help children in Doncaster.
Commenting on being shortlisted, Senita said: “I am excited and honoured to be shortlisted in the awards. I truly enjoy my work with the Trust, working with children, young people and families in Doncaster and hope to continue empowering and encouraging positive change within families. I would like to thank my colleagues for the nomination and for their continued support.”
Trust Chief Executive, Paul Moffat, said: “We are all thrilled that Senita has received such well-deserved recognition by reaching the shortlist for the national awards. We are proud of her achievements and feel that Doncaster is very lucky to have her championing its children and young people.
“Senita is a very special social worker, who has a fantastic style and a laudable commitment to improving the lives of children, young people and families in Doncaster.
“I am really proud of how she operates. It is hard to believe she qualified as a social worker less than 12 months ago. She is so competent and professional. She constantly strives to improve and just will not settle for second best.”
“When I met with them, they were very complimentary about the support they’d had from you and the Trust in general. “
