Why volunteer with the Trust?

It's nice to be a part of a team who put their spare time and effort into having fun, learning new skills and generally helping a young person to develop into whoever they want to be.
Angela - A trust volunteer

There are lots of benefits of becoming a volunteer with us. You can learn new skills, improve your CV, build your confidence and make new friends – but the best reason of all you get to help make a difference to the life of a young person in Doncaster.

There are a number of ways you can get involved. You can volunteer to be a friend for a child in care – we call this our Independent Visitor Scheme. You can also volunteer to work with young people who have offended to encourage them to take responsibility for their actions, address any issues which are underlying their offending behaviour and give something back to the community by being a part of our community panel; or by becoming a Volunteer Mentor.

“Volunteers are the best. People don’t understand or realise how much time and effort it takes to make their young person feel safe and trust them.”
