Child’s Christmas card design to be sent to hundreds of homes

Posted: 19-12-2016

Santa, Rudolph and the Snowman were just some of the inspirations for children in care who submitted entries to a festive card competition.

Santa flying across the night sky was the winning design which has been turned into the official Christmas card for Doncaster Children’s Services Trust. The card will be sent out to people and organisations that have helped support the Trust to deliver its vital services to children, young people and families in the borough.

This is the third year of the competition, organised by Trevor Polson, Chair of the Foster Carers’ Association and one of the Trust’s foster carers. He explained: “It attracts entries to three age categories. An overall winner is chosen, who receives a £10 high street voucher and whose design is turned into a glossy card to be sent out by the Trust to its partners and supporters.”

Trust Chief Executive Paul Moffat said: “It is wonderful to see the artistic talents that our children and young people have. It was a tough challenge to have to select the overall winner.

“We are very proud to be able to send out the winning design as our official Christmas greeting to all those who have been a part of our journey towards improving services to children, young people and families during the past year.”
